A long time ago, businesses relied on emails, live chat and social media integrations like Facebook Messenger, Twitter and Instagram. Thanks to the WhatsApp Cloud API that enables you to use WhatsApp to send OTP and marketing messages and also integrate WhatsApp Cloud API into your customer service tool.
Over 2 Billion people use WhatsApp with over 98% average open rate according to WhatsApp. However, in today’s article, I would like to share the good news with the clients of Jivo Chat even if you are not a client yet, you can get your 14-day trial here to start using the tool which thousands of people are using to reach their customers.
Using Jivo Chat comes with a lot of benefits including canned responses, the ability to use social media channels like Telegram, Facebook, Twitter, and Apple business chat and even using your own custom email to provide support through your business support email. Sounds cool? Not yet, here is another module introduced by Jivo Chat
WhatsApp integration module.
Like other live chat tools, Jivo Chat officially partners with Meta, and therefore, they have made their own WhatsApp Module, using their Cloud API. This means that you will not need to use third parties to integrate WhatsApp into your Jivo chat account, you will use their integration which does not need any technical knowledge, in fact, takes about 5 minutes to complete provided you have set up your business account profile with Meta.
As a new client from Meta, you will be given free limited messaging features like sending a few people messages but once you verify, WhatsApp will give you 1000 free messages per month.
How to integrate the Jivo WhatsApp Module?
Surprising, integrating this module is easy, if you have not yet subscribed to Jivo Chat, you can see their pricing here or you can signup for a free 14-day trial to use the tool and with this trial, you have access to all pro features of Jivo Chat. Please note that the WhatsApp module comes at independent pricing as an addon but the cost is worth it and you can cancel anytime.
To integrate this module, you should have the admin privilege to your Jivo account, and after you have logged in, locate to Manage on the right side of your dashboard once you click Manage, you will be able to see the channel immediately on the top after the word system.
If you have installed other channels, you will be able to see them down. If you have not yet, do not worry, you can install other channels later.
Scroll down and you will be able to see the WhatsApp channel and just click Connect to proceed with the integration.
Once you click connect, you will proceed to the next page where you will be redirected to log in to your Facebook account, where you can fill in the business details, like Business name, business information, business address and then the number that you will use on WhatsApp, this number should not be on WhatsApp or connected in another tool.
If the number is on WhatsApp, you will need to first delete the number before you can repeat this integration or if connected in another tool, you will be prompted to Migrate the number by Meta so your previous setting will not be lost but expect a downtime during the migration.
After you have completed all those steps, you will be able to see this integration under the channel from your Jivo account and if you need help, do not hesitate to contact them and you will receive world-class support.

At our company, we encourage our clients to contact us through WhatsApp even when they initially contact us through the Live chat widget, and the reason is simple, you understand well that your clients reach out to you through your website and perhaps require an internet connection, meaning if your client get disconnected, you are likely to lose the conversation. Unlike WhatsApp, when your clients get disconnected, they will receive the message anytime they get connection and hence you will be keeping in touch all the time.
Jivo chat has a marketing feature which you can use to send campaigns to your clients, you can use the chat widget to send out campaigns but this means when the client responds, you will receive the response as a chat but we send WhatsApp messages to our clients through WhatsApp with a call to actions like place your order and because of the higher open rate, we always receive high engagement through WhatsApp compared to another channel.
